Chicken Bus |
Antigua is a Unesco World Heritage site and is an attractive city with rows of
brightly coloured buildings and its Baroque and Colonial architecture. This is also the land of Chicken Buses – Old
school buses from the USA which are brightly painted in and cram as many people
in as possible – hence one of the explanations as to why they are called Chicken Buses – we are crammed in like
chickens.
As it happens the Chicken
bus we took to and from the Macadamia
farm was not crowded as we got on at the first stop and maybe not many
people want to go that way. For me, this
may seem strange but it was one of my highlights – I love Macadamia nuts so
really enjoyed seeing how they were produced.

Macadamia Nuts |
The farm itself was a little haven of beauty full of wild flowers. To make me feel even more relaxed, I was picked from the group to get a free macadamia oil facial massage. Maybe they thought that I looked as if I needed it!

The best bit of all though was the magnificent breakfast of macadamia nut pancakes. Wow, they were something else indeed.
