Here we go again

Nearly 7 years ago to the day since our round the world trip and here we go again on another travelling adventure.

Bags packed, house sitter arranged, cat relocated and we are nearly ready to embark on our next adventure to South America.  A whole new continent for us to explore!

Our itinerary is roughly as follows:

1. Argentina - starting our trip with an immersion course in Spanish in Buenos Aires whilst also exploring BA and the surrounding areas.

2. Patagonia- we have taken a somewhat pragmatic decision to cruise around the Cape, Falkland Islands and Patagonia.

3.  Chile - This will be our backpacking time starting in  Santiago and after a brief detour to Easter Island we will be heading up north to San Pedro de Atacama,  the salt flats and onwards to Bolivia.

4. Overlanding in Bolivia and Peru- We will be overlanding on a giant orange truck through Bolivia and Peru. John has bravely decided to attempt the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu whilst Eva is looking forward to relaxing in Cusco and then taking the train to  meet John at Machu Picchu.

5.Peru and the Amazon- staying mainly around the Lima area, we will decide what we want to do nearer the time but we do know we will be venturing into the Amazon rainforest at Iquitos- the largest city in the world that is not accessible by road.

So a pretty full on adventure awaits us over the next few months and we hope you will enjoy reading our blog and would love to hear your thoughts, comments, tips etc.

As for our hopes and dreams:

Eva "I'm particularly Iooking forward to visiting Easter Island, meeting lots of new people and improving my Spanish".

John "  I'm really looking forward to the adventure, challenging myself to do the Inca Trail, and Easter Island ".

  3. What a wonderful itinerary.I like the idea of starting your trip with an immersion course in Spanish. That should really help you during your travels and allow for better interaction with the locals! All the best!
